Groundhog Day

We should always be learning from everything, including movies. Considering that we're all about increasing God-consciousness - about consciously trying to serve God - we love Groundhog Day. Even though it never even mentions God, it's a terrific consciousness-raising tool (and also funny and involving). Read about the movie here

Video - Meet the Noahides, June 15, 2009. Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA), by Ben Harris. Interview with Rev. J. E. Saunders, First Covenant Foundation director, with some congregants (including 2009-2010 Foundation Fellow Hiram Vazquez) and family members. JTA.org YouTube excerpt:
Meet the Noahides with J. E. Saunders

In Search of Truth, six videos. With Jack E. Saunders and Hiram Vazquez (the rap singer/musician), one of our two new Foundation Fellows for 2009-2010. Each video in this 6-part series takes about 10-minutes. Topic: the Seven Noahide Laws in Scripture and in the world, evidentiary proof of God's involvement in the world, before our very eyes:

In Search of Truth: Noahide Teachings - Part 1

In Search of Truth: Noahide Teachings - Part 2

In Search of Truth, Noahide Teachings - Part 3

In Search of Truth, Noahide Teachings - Part 4

In Search of Truth, Noahide Teachings - Part 5

In Search of Truth, Noahide Teachings - Part 6

Still rewarding:

Some people believe that everything will be fine if they can just "get God on their side." J.E. Saunders, the Baptist pastor who became a leading teacher and interpreter of the First Covenant, shows that, as George Washington once put it, the real glory and challenge of life is not to somehow get God on one's side but that we, ourselves, should get ourselves on God's side.

The Seven root Noahide Laws are all negative, "thou shalt not" principles (thou shall not steal, nor murder, etc.). J.E. Saunders shows that a person can't be called righteous unless he or she does the opposite of what the Law forbids. So, instead of merely refraining from stealing, for instance, one must give charity; instead of merely refraining from murdering one's neighbors, one must act, when necessary, to preserve the lives of others; etc.

Videos - of Rabbi Meir Dovid Kahane (1932-1990), speaking at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. This fascinating lecture - divided into a series of seven (7) 10-minute segments - by the tough little rabbi who was so frequently attacked, so frequently denounced, and finally assassinated by the same enemies of God and man who brought us 9/11, explains, with terrific clarity, exactly what's at stake in the war between Israel and jihadist Islam, and how Israel and the West will finally prevail.

Appreciating Rabbi Meir Dovid Kahane (article)

This video first came into being in 1988. Thanks to First Covenant's own Director Jack E. Saunders for 1) cutting through all sorts of obstacles, just to obtain it; and 2) transferring it over from videotape and posting it - the whole series - on YouTube, even when the speaker has been so generally reviled and remains - even after death! - so "incorrect" politically.

We are honored to make this great commentary available. As Jack Saunders says, if only the leaders of Israel today, the Jewish people, and the West in general, had listened to what the rabbi said back in 1988! What a lot of suffering could have been avoided!

(Rabbi Kahane - who, on this video, is physically assaulted as he speaks - comments on world affairs, politics, and religion. Remarkable stuff... Watch the whole lecture on these seven videos.)

The Late Rabbi and the Noahides: Rabbi Meir Kahane speaks at Noahide Conference.
Rabbi Meir Kahane, may he rest in peace, speaks at the First International Conference of the Descendants of Noah, held in the Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas, on Monday, April 30, 1990. (Produced by Vendyl Jones and Vendyl Jones Research Institutes)

About six months after his engagement in Fort Worth, in New York City, Rabbi Kahane was murdered, on November 5, 1990 - by the same Jew-hating, anti-American conspirators who carried out the first terrorist bombing of the World Trade Center, prior to 9/11.

To post this video online, we had to divide it into separate sections - but nothing is left out; this is the original video in its entirety. As for the program itself, we ask you to give it the benefit of the doubt: after some awkward moments at the beginning, Rabbi Kahane comes on, and warms up a little, and then it becomes - if we do say so - intensely interesting.

See if you can pick out two of our own directors, Rabbi Michael Katz and Jack E. Saunders, who make appearances - along with several members and longtime friends, including Professor James D. Tabor - in the program.

Another stand-out program:

One of the most remarkable figures of the 16th century, Jacob Emden (1697-1796), a true Sage of Israel, challenges Christians to return to their first teachers and to the Seven Noahide Commandments. (See his letter to Israel's Christian neighbors - included):

very weird songs:

Listen to it in context with this explanatory article:
Prophecy Fulfilled (Again): Circumcision

Look unto Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth;
for I am God, and there is no other
