Links
We have been reluctant to offer links. But these links - in no particular order - all offer good things:
Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Wikipedia features several articles on the Universal Covenant and on what at least one writer calls "Noahidism." Wikipedia is a massive reader-written encyclopedia, larger than the Encyclopaedia Britannica and very dynamic: entries are always subject to change - depending, sometimes, on the mere caprice of some guy somewhere. See:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/7LawsOfNoah/join or send request to 7LawsOfNoah-subscribe@yahoogroups.com (Noahide Digest, brought to you courtesy of the same nice lady in Toronto, Mrs. Tsila K., who founded the Facebook group above. Tsila finds all sorts of interesting things - things of special interest to Noahides, including the dates and times of holidays, all sorts of cool YouTube videos, and, for instance, our Covenant Connection newsletters - and sends them via links coming to your email inbox.)
http://www.torah.org (A very extensive Torah-outreach site including a "Jewish Answers" feature. Our three directors, Rabbi Michael Katz, Rev. Jack Saunders, and Michael Dallen, all occasionally take visitors' and students' questions in an "Ask the Rabbi" format. Mainstream Orthodox Judaism, including the "yeshivish" and the "modern.")
http://www.myspace.com/bnai_noah (Our own Jack Saunders' personal MySpace site. The only place, currently, to get quite a few of our interviews, videos, and lectures.)
http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=2390502958&topic=8668&ref=mf (The First Covenant Foundation's very own Facebook site, with blog and maybe someday more.)
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=16873400509&ref=ts (Virtual Bnai Noah/ Noahide Community facebook group. An interface for networking - it "may work to unify and possibly build up a physical Noahide Community in your area." The founder of this group - Tsila, a nice Jewish lady in Toronto - persuaded us to put up this links page.)
http://www.geocities.com/rachav7 (by "Rachav," Mrs. Frances M., a deeply committed Noahide lady in Melbourne, Australia, a longtime friend of First Covenant and especially our book, Rainbow Covenant. This service - which is one of the oldest Noahide facilities on the Web, in continuous, 24/7 operation for at least about 15 years - includes multiple discussion groups ("Moderated Noahides," "Noahide Leadership List," etc.). For everyone interested in Noahism.)
http:// www.noachiden.nl (Dutch. By Noahides in Holland: Sefanja and Naomi S. Severin's organization. A growing and impressive website, very content-rich. Particularly useful if you happen to understand Dutch.)
http://www.lamikdash.com (Resources on the Har HaBayit/Temple Mount)
http://www.Kcholmim.org ("K'Cholmim" means, 'As dreamers')
http://www.ZFA.org.il (Zionist Freedom Alliance)
http://www.theisraelproject.org (The Israel Project is an international, non-governmental, non-profit organization devoted to educating the press and public about Israel while promoting "security, freedom and peace." Pretty solid stuff.)
http://www.JewishIsrael.org (the website of Manhigut Yehudit - literally, "Jewish leadership," a Hebrew political party in Israel, co-founded by Shmuel Sackett, international director, and Moshe Feiglin, chairman. Mr. Feiglin may someday become the prime minister of Israel. We believe that he and his party are much more sensible and tolerant than they generally get credit for being. We present this link to them in order to help set the record straight. Also, incidentally, we think well of their program.)
http://ChavurahGeireiToshav.ning.com (Torah as Universal Religion) (Chavura - meaning group, or association, like a friendship group or study group. Gerei Toshav - "sojourners at the gate," literally. That is, Noahides who, according to the Torah, are legally permitted to permanently reside in the Land of Israel as "resident strangers." These are non-Jews who keep the Noahide laws and believe in HaShem (God) alone, rather than in any associate or substitute deity or power. This is a new outfit, based in the United Kingdom; we think it has considerable potential. We particularly like its founder and webmaster, an American archaeologist named Ari.)
http://www.mesora.org (Torah - "the Tradition." An extensive, very learned "modern Orthodox" site. Some of our contributors are members and directors).
http://www.aish.edu (Torah - "the fire of Torah." A distinguished mainstream Torah organization, headquarted in Jerusalem.)
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/ (Arutz Sheva/"Channel Seven": a major online up-to-the-minute newspaper, or newsmagazine, based in Israel. Most of the leading media outlets in Israel are very left-wing politically, and often religiously - they routinely promote appeasing Israel's Arab enemies, appear eager to renounce the Jewish people's responsibilities and privileges as the People of Israel, and often speak ill of various tenets of Judaism. Arutz Sheva, this site, is a very welcome corrective to all that; it comes from the right. It often is right.)
http://www.road90.com/ (News from Israel, and information for touring Israel, buying or renting property in Israel, Israeli companies, new products and services, and technology. Rich in ads.)
http://www.noahidenations.org (for Noahides by Noahides. Ray Pettersen's Noahide Nations' site, including Noahide Nations' elaborate virtual yeshiva. Two of our directors, Rev. Jack Saunders and Rabbi Michael Katz are regular contributors. One of the more ambitious - extensive, tries to do more - Noahide sites.)
http://academyofshem.com/ (Alan W. Cecil's site - author of The Noahide Code: a guide to the perplexed Christian. This little book is very erudite and information-packed. Its analysis of Christianity's theology and development is interesting, and often persuasive, but most Christians will find it offputting. We definitely like Alan's appreciation of Rainbow Covenant: "Insightful and often amusing, this is the best book available about the Seven Laws of Noah."
http://unitedisrael.org (Website of United Israel World Union, a tight-knit organization originally founded by David Horowitz (1903-2002) of New York. Its chief objective, in its own words, is and has been "to represent a universal version of the Hebraic faith to the non-Jewish world, based primarily on the Hebrew Bible, as well as provide a meeting place for Jews with non-Jews.")
http://www.afsi.org (Americans for a Safe Israel - news from Israel and the world of Islam, culture wars and geo-politics, including a great deal of news that you probably haven't seen elsewhere, with a mostly wonderfully sane but occasionally - they have lapses - oddly neo-conservative slant. Frequently excellent. Our own Michael Dallen is a longtime member and a former member of AFSI's National Council.)
http://www.613.org (613 commandments within Sinai's Ten Commandments)
http://www.tfdixie.com (Torah for Dixie)
http://www.outreachjudaism.org (even with this name, this also addresses a Jewish audience. Judaism doesn't "reach out" to try to make non-Jews Jewish. Non-Jews who convert to Judaism are trying to do more than God asks of them. But anyone can, and everyone should, become a co-religionist of Israel - a believer in HaShem ("the Name," or God), a member of the same community of faith.)
http://www.okbns.org/ (by Noahides, for Noahides, from Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma B'nai Noah Society has released a Noahide prayerbook or siddur called Service of the Heart. It's interesting and, in fact, surprisingly good despite some flaws. Rabbi Michael Katz calls it part of "an ongoing conversation." He and other scholars, including Rev. Jack Saunders, contributed to it. You can see it online here.)
http://7lawsofnoah.blogspot.com (news and views from Canada)
http://www. schuellerhouse.com (a "Netzarim" site - you can read about the doctrine of the Netzarim - which is not a doctrine that we endorse, but we don't fret about it endlessly, either - on this site, along with a huge amount of other material. Webmaster: an old friend of ours, a thoughtful and devoted Noahide, Kenneth Guentert.)
http://www.half-jewish.org (beta-gershom.org; a remarkably rich, extensive website exploring topics of particular interest to men and women coming from "partly Jewish" families.)
http://malecircumcision.org/ (Moses, Isaiah, and other prophets told of a time when at least some aspects of the wisdom and holiness even of the Torah's "statutes," the laws of the Torah that don't "make sense" logically - such as the laws of kosher food, say, or the law requiring the circumcision (cutting of the penile foreskin) of every Hebrew boy, one week and a day after birth - would become clear even to multitudes of non-Jews. This site, sponsored by the World Health Organization (W.H.O.), major medical schools and others, discusses circumcision.)
http://www.arkwoodcaskets.com/story.html (a commercial site, offering "kosher" burial caskets, links to other "Green Burial Movement" sites, and general "ashes to ashes, dust to dust" information about kosher - every kosher burial is "green" and non-polluting (besides being holy, dignified, traditional, etc. - funerals and final services. The Torah teaches that burial in the earth, after death, is a sacrament, or holy act: a last act of atonement.)
http://www.asknoah.org (The Lubavitcher hasidim who run this site refuse to acknowledge our existence - they don't support what they don't run - or even that of Rainbow Covenant. On top of that, we find their approach to the Noahide Covenant - see how it supports the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, in our Covenant Connection newsletter - extremely embarrassing. So. . . take the good, if you can find it; ignore the bad.)
http://lazerbrody.typepad.com/lazer_beams/bnai_noach (different Hasidic Jews - Rabbi Lazer Brody, disciple of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov - for Noahides. Be warned, however, and this goes for the chabad-influenced people mentioned above as well as all the varied groups that call themselves hasidic, or chasidic, there is no such thing as a hasidic gentile. The very concept is preposterous. Once you get past that nonsense, however, you may find some value here.)
http://www.jihadwatch.org (the unfolding story of Islamic jihad - Holy War [sic] - in the world.)
http://hurryupharry.bloghouse.net/archives/cat_syrian_journal.html (a British blogger's take on Syria and the wretched mess called the modern Arab world. Funny)
http://www.mideastweb.org/jewreligion.htm (A useful resource-page and FAQ sheet, fighting Jew Hate , or Anti-Semitism, and including info on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion)
http://zionism-israel.com/jew.htm (Another useful resource of the same stripe, defining what it is to be a Jew, a son or daughter of Israel, and fighting Anti-Semitism)
http://www.spielbergfilmarchive.org.il (Virtual Cinema: Israel in the world)
http://matzav.com/ ("The Jewish world @ your fingertips." Orthodox Jewish site, very rich, with many links. The political commentary veers weirdly to the right when it comes to U.S. politics - what is it with these people? Are Orthodox Jewish Democrats in America a silent majority? - but this is a remarkably worthwhile site otherwise.)
http://kismet.jlove.com/ltw_ff.html (One way of looking at Israel in the world)
http://www.worldnetdaily.com (World Net Daily: news. A little weird, very fringe, and very biased politically, but they're pretty sane when it comes to Israel and Islam and they often have good stuff that no one else has.)
http://www.kinder-noah.de (German. By and for German-speaking Noahides)
http:// www.bneinoach.at (By Noahides in Austria, for German-speaking Noahides)
http://torontonoahides.blogspot.com (For Noahides in Toronto, Ontario. If you are in Toronto or in the Greater Toronto area, here is a contact for you)
http:www.//kiva.org/ (Making micro-loans to struggling small entrepreneurs in Africa and most of the rest of the Third World. It struck some of us as simply a worthwhile general charity, putting Torah principles - not that Kiva necessarily acknowledges them as being Torah principles - of giving charity into action. "Offering a hand up, not a handout.")
